Comments:I need to buy a great looking and best quality tube set..with AM, FM and SW...like the old '38 Magnovox cabinet...but don't need one that has a turn table. I am most always in Austin and can come down just about anytime Also I have quite a few tubes, many still in origional old paper sleeves. You may find one you need. I'll bring them down for you to look through. Please email me with what you may have to offer. My tel is 512-276-1818. I am here most of the time, but don't use a recorder and just check the caller ID or the # to return calls if I'm out when you call. Thank You, Clark

Comments:I have a Zenith 10H571 Spinet that needs some work. I attempted to fix it with tubes and caps plus replacing some rotten wires, but no luck. I asked Ron Holton to look at it and he couldn't make it work either. Are you currently doing repairs? I haven't been to your shop since you moved, so I need directions. I am a current member of TARC but haven't been to a meeting for quite a while. Kyle is a long way from Thorndale. Bruce Kennedy

Comments:Finding Steve Kuhn to restore a radio for me in 2004 was a real stroke of luck. He did an outstanding job repairing and restoring a Westinghouse H-127 "refrigerator portable," and my mother was overwhelmed when I gave the "new" old family radio back to her. In 2010 I received a badly deteriorated 1939 Philco table radio (Model 39-30) that was once my grandmother's. Steve's work on this radio exceeded my expectations! When he finished the many weeks of work, he returned to me a radio that I am really excited about owning. It sounds good and looks beautiful. Steve poured hours and hours of very tedious and thorough work into the project, and I know he treated my radio as if it were his own. It's not easy to find someone who works at Steve's high standard, and I deeply appreciate his skill and work ethic. KIO, Austin April 2010 -------------------- All the best, Steve, and many thanks again! Kit Ogburn

Comments:Congratulations on your web site and location! I thought you were closing (I saw you moving out one day as I drove past on other business), but am very pleased that you are still open for business - I a weakness for Art Deco, Machine Age and Streamline Moderne styling, especially electronics and aviation (I should have lived in the late '20s to '40s). Best of luck!

Comments:Steve has restored two radios for me now, and both are gorgeous. The first radio was a 1947 Silvertone. My mother bought the radio before my parents were married in 1947. It was their only entertainment for the first 15 years they were married until they could afford a TV. The radio sat in a closet for 40 years before I brought it to Steve. When I picked it up, it didn't look like the same radio. My mother paid the greatest compliment stating that it looked just like it had when she took it out of the box in 1947. The second radio is a 1947 Trutone Boomerang radio. It's a gorgeous and unique looking radio. I've started a collection of unique looking Bakelite radios on top of the cabinets in my kitchen. It's a great look in the kitchen, and I installed outlets at the top of the cabinets so I can periodically play the radios. I'm about to task Steve with restoring another radio. Thanks, again, Steve for bringing my parents' radio back to life. Julie

Comments:Whether you just want to have a cherished family heirloom restored, or are a collector looking for antique radios or vintage items, this is the BEST place to go in all of Texas. Steve has a VAST inventory of parts and repairs radios just about every day of the week.He is very customer oriented and his repair skills range from 1920 Atwater-Kents to 1940's Philco/ Zenith/RCA shortwave/AM radios to 1950's radios and portables to mid '60's radios. His prices are extremely reasonable and he is a craftsman in the most traditional sense. I have bought radios, radio accessories, parts and other radio related items from Steve for a long time and he has never let me down. While you're in Lockhart, stop by Chisholm Trail Bar-B-Que after visiting Neon Radio-some of the BEST Bar-B-Que in Texas!:)
